Qualifications

We are seeking a Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our growing team in Sudbury, ON. This role is a full-time opportunity working Monday - Friday day shifts.

What It Is All About

As a Communicative Disorders Assistant with HearCANADA, you are passionate about the hearing healthcare of our clients. You will provide excellent customer service in assisting with troubleshooting and product maintenance, recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities through various mediums, and act as a HearCANADA brand ambassador in the centre and in community-based partnership opportunities.

What You Will Do

  • Support customers with basic product maintenance and care, and demonstrate/troubleshoot product features and benefits
  • Discuss communicative strategies with customers
  • Communicate with customers via telephone for appointment follow-ups, or reschedules
  • Leverage knowledge of hearing aid technology and other assistive listening devices to make meaningful recommendations to customers to support hearing health
  • Identify and participate in community events and organizations to promote HearCANADA
  • Act as a liaison with physicians’ offices and other referral sources to maximize opportunities

What We Are Looking For

  • Diploma in Communicative Disorders Assistant from a recognized post-secondary institution, or hold a Hearing Instrument Dispenser designation with the provincial governing body
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role or extensive experience working in the clinic with hearing aids (cleans and checks) and customers
  • Ability to articulate the specifications on hearing aid technology and assistive listening devices to a diverse clientele
  • Superior customer service skills (in-person, by phone, or written communication) to build and foster relationships with our customers
  • Ability to identify and maximize on sales opportunities (walk-ins, customer referrals, telephone inquiries, retention practices, etc.)
  • Positively contribute to the overall company culture at HearCANADA and represent our values within the hearing centres, through client interactions, and community events
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license is required as some local travel to provide support in other clinics may be required (mileage paid)
