Competition #: CC#25-04-084 Position: Early Childhood Educator Union: NSGEU Family of Schools: Chignecto Location(s): Cumberland North Academy Hours Per Day: 6.00 Hours Per Week: 30.00 School Hours: 8:35-2:30 Assignment Hours: 8:00-3:00 Days: Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri Status: Term Percentage: 10 Months Salary: As per NSGEU Contract Additional Info: Post Date: Monday July 14, 2025 Close Date: Tuesday August 5, 2025 at 12:00:00PM Anticipated Start Date: Monday August 25, 2025 End Date: 6/30/2026 Introduction Reporting to the Principal, the Early Childhood Educator works directly with children and is a member of the pre-primary program team that:
- Uses the Nova Scotia Early Learning Curriculum Framework create a safe, nurturing environment for children in the Pre-primary Program
- Designs and implements age appropriate activities and program plans that promote learning through play, creativity, and exploration.
- Monitors and assesses each child's progress, identifying areas that may require additional support or intervention.
- Regularly communicates with families to share updates on their child's progress and discuss any concerns or developmental needs. Minimum Requirements - A diploma or degree in early childhood education from a recognized institution;
- Recent experience (within last 5 years) working with pre-school children in an early learning environment; and,
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR - C Additional Assets Closing Notes Successful applicants will be required to provide a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencing employment in accordance with CCRCE policies and procedures.
