Job Description

Under the general direction of the Manager, Events, this position is responsible for pursuing and servicing business for the River Rock Casino Resort, contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment. The role involves ensuring adherence to policies, developing relationships with guests, and managing sales of in-house conferences and events, including guest rooms, meeting rooms, catering, theatre, and casino functions. The position also includes market development in coordination with resort needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of events, guests, and payments; solicit and book new and repeat business via telemarketing, mailing, site inspections, referrals, and tradeshows to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Plan and detail meetings and functions with clients, including space, dates, equipment, menus, and billing.
  • Conduct site tours and inspections throughout the resort.
  • Manage and resolve guest issues efficiently.
  • Coordinate with Banquets to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, health, safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for large groups.
  • Act as liaison between sales team and customers pre-, during, and post-event.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma; post-secondary hospitality or hotel education preferred.
  • Certifications such as SIR, Smart Serve, or IGB.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Sales and Event Management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Opera/Fidelio, Micros is an asset.
  • Ability to obtain a Criminal Background Check.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for providing excellent guest experiences.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
