Job description

Catalyst Changers Inc., a Stronghold Company, is seeking Vessel Entry Technicians to join our team. We are a leader in catalyst handling services within the refining and petrochemicals sectors. Known for our strong safety culture and pioneering spirit, Catalyst Changers has established a reputation for having the best catalyst craftsmen in Canada.

The Vessel Entry Technician will perform critical maintenance services on vessels and towers at refineries and petrochemical facilities. The role involves closely supervised assignments designed to develop employee skills. We aim to provide more than just a job; we want to equip you with the tools for a successful career at Catalyst Changers Inc. This position is seasonal, based on project needs.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Ensuring health and safety are the top priorities.
  2. Adhering to all applicable company, customer, and legislative codes, regulations, practices, and procedures.
  3. Promoting a positive safety culture in line with company values.
  4. Performing confined space entries and related labor work using specialized respirators and helmets within inert atmospheres.
  5. Entering vessels to perform catalyst change-outs.
  6. Removing and repairing vessel internals such as trays and screens.
  7. Completing accurate paperwork and documentation, including inspection reports and timesheets, and submitting them daily.
  8. Participating actively in health and safety meetings, safety communication, planning, and hazard assessments.
  9. Collaborating with clients, co-workers, and supervisors as part of a team.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • A safety-focused attitude with experience in industrial settings.
  • Strong organizational and cleanliness skills.
  • Good health and physical condition to perform duties.
  • Ability to enter confined spaces and wear respirators and breathing helmets.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work 10-12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and out of town.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening for site access.

This position is available for 60 temporary employees from March 1 to November 30, 2025.
