Job summary

Davie in Lévis is seeking a Catalogue and Specifications Specialist to build and maintain the shipyard material catalogue for CAD tools, selecting materials per project specs and strategy.

You will ensure compliance with standards, manage version control, verify data integrity, train new users, and generate usage reports while collaborating with engineering and design teams.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years in shipbuilding or a related industry.
  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Good knowledge of engineering processes relevant to shipbuilding.
  • Experience working with CAD tools.
  • Full competence in MS Office suite products.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a large volume of work.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken), English fluency required for supplier and client interactions.
  • Successful completion of security screening and required security clearance (5 years Canadian residency, with no 6-month interruption).

  • Maintain detailed documentation of catalogue management processes and procedures.

As Catalogue and Specifications Specialist, you will be responsible for developing the shipyard material catalogue. More specifically, you will:

  • Develop, organize, and maintain a material catalogue for CAD tools.
  • Select the appropriate material based on our strategy (facilities, procurement, etc.) and project specifications.
  • Ensure the catalogue is up to date and compliant with industry standards or technical specifications from suppliers.
  • Implement and manage version control and update protocols for the catalogue.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken). Fluency in English is required for this position, as you will interact with English‑speaking suppliers, stakeholders or clients.
  • Successful completion of the security screening process and obtainment of the required security clearance under the Federal Government’s Contract Security Program (minimum of 5 years of residency in Canada, with no interruption of 6 consecutive months).
