PartnerRe is seeking a Catastrophe Risk Modeling professional to provide timely analytics for Underwriting, Actuarial and Risk Management. You will analyze exposure data, run cat models, and communicate results while investigating drivers of changes in loss risk over time.
The role supports portfolio modeling, regulatory reporting, and ongoing development of internal tools within a hybrid Toronto-based team. Strong programming in Python/SQL and English communication skills are essential.
The position is embedded in the Catastrophe (Cat) Modeling department, which operates from Singapore, Toronto and Zurich. It is responsible for quantifying the company’s cat risk in close collaboration with the Cat Research, Portfolio Analytics and Tools & Technology departments. The Cat Modeling team supports risk transfer decisions founded on our scientifically based view of Cat risk by running and analyzing vendor and proprietary cat models.
Your core responsibility in this role is to provide timely, efficient, and high‑quality Cat risk modeling analytics to Underwriting, Actuarial and Risk Management.
You are a passionate natural scientist, mathematician, actuary, engineer or computer scientist wanting to apply your deep analytical and technical knowledge around reinsurance Cat risk transfer decisions.
The expected base salary range for this position, when hired into our Toronto location, is CAD 84,000 - 134,000 per year. For positions based in other jurisdictions, compensation will be determined in alignment with local regulations, market benchmarks, and internal compensation frameworks. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in our annual incentive program, payment under which is at the discretion of PartnerRe and subject to individual and company performance. Eligible employees also have the opportunity to participate in an array of benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, a health spending account, a defined contribution pension plan, life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability coverage, etc.
PartnerRe operates with a hybrid work approach that balances in‑office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. Employees are required to be in the office 3 days a week.
