Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Casual Tactical Security Guard for an Educational Facility in Downtown Toronto. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents to protect staff, students, and visitors.

This role emphasizes timely reporting, strong communication, and adherence to the Criminal Code. Training is provided through GardaWorld Academy, with uniform supplied and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Use of Force certification required.
• Tactical security experience preferred.
• Ontario Security Guard License required.
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification mandatory.
• Experience with vulnerable populations beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrol high-traffic areas on foot.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies quickly.
• Enforce Criminal Code and site regulations.
• Observe and report safety hazards and incidents.
• Assist in medical emergencies and evacuations.
• Conduct site checks and manage access points.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and records.
• Support community safety initiatives and engagement.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement when needed.

Responsibilities for Tactical Security Guard

As a Tactical Security Guard assigned to a sensitive educational environment, you’ll be a key player in maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for staff, students, and visitors.
Duties include:

• Proactively patrolling high-traffic areas by foot
• Responding to incidents and emergencies quickly and effectively
• Enforcing the Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, and site-specific regulations
• Observing and reporting suspicious behaviour or safety hazards
• Assisting in medical emergency response and supporting on-site evacuations
• Conducting site checks, verifying identity, and managing access points
• Writing detailed incident reports and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting community engagement efforts to promote safety and awareness
• Collaborating with local law enforcement when required

Qualifications for Tactical Security Guard

• Be Authorized to work in Canada
• Must be Use of Force certified with atleast 1 year Tactical security experience
• Must have valid Ontario Security Guard License

Must have Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification(WSIB Approved)

Must have experience working with Vulnerable population

• Must be able to commute to Downtown Toronto with no onsite parking

Working Knowledge of Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act enforcement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism

Strong documentation and report-writing abilities

Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for the duration of your shift

Computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Suite)

Self-defence, powers of arrest, or EMR training is considered a strong asset
