The Peace Wapiti Public School Division is seeking Substitute Educational Assistants to support students with specialized needs on a casual, on-call basis. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience and education, assisting with various support plans and student needs.
Medicine Hat Public School Division serves over 7,000 students with a wide range of programs and services tailored to student needs, community, and parental involvement. Our division includes three high schools, four middle schools (including one with a Christian Education focus and a virtual online school), and 14 elementary schools (including virtual, STEM, arts, and Outreach programs).
We are continuously recruiting Substitute Educational Assistants to work on a casual, on-call basis throughout the school year. Applicants with previous experience and/or education from a recognized post-secondary institution are encouraged to apply.
Main duties involve working with students who have specialized medical, cognitive, or behavioral needs. Experience with students requiring complex communication, lifts and transfers, toileting, life skills, positive behavior support, and self-regulation strategies is an asset. The role includes assisting with the implementation of Medical and Behavior Support Plans.
Successful applicants will need to provide a police record check with vulnerable sector screening, an intervention record check, and undergo a physical demands assessment.
Note: Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Please ensure you answer all questions thoroughly to provide additional information. Throughout the school year, we may contact applicants from the substitute pool as needed, so responses might be delayed.
