Job description

Casual Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Principal and the Manager of Early Learning, the Casual Early Childhood Educator collaborates with classroom teachers to deliver high-quality, play-based education that supports the cognitive, emotional, and social development of Junior and Senior Kindergarten students in a full-day Early Learning Program. The role may also involve leading extended day programs (before and/or after school) at designated sites.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have completed a two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education or an equivalent qualification. Registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required or in progress. A minimum of one (1) year of child care experience and valid First Aid/CPR certification are also required. Position Details

This is a casual, on-call position, including extended day programs at various elementary schools within the board. Starting September 1, 2024, casual employees who do not complete at least five (5) assignments during a school year will be removed from the casual list and must reapply, unless on statutory or approved leaves.
