Job summary

NSCC is seeking a faculty member for the Practical Nursing program at Lunenburg Campus, Bridgewater, NS. The role involves delivering theoretical and practical instruction, coordinating on-site clinical supervision, and designing engaging learning experiences in person and online.

You will work with diverse learners, ensure safety standards, and stay current with industry practices, contributing to program development and student success across modalities.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification is an Accredited Nursing Program-Diploma, a Bachelor of Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; must be licensed or eligible in NS.
• Minimum five years (FT-equivalent) of recent nursing experience in clinical settings; at least one year in Canada.
• Experience across medical-surgical, long-term care or community nursing is an asset.
• Familiar with MS Office and e-mail; comfortable with digital learning tools and platforms.
• Experience liaising with business and industry; willingness to engage in online/blended delivery training.

Responsibilities

• Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the Practical Nursing program and related programs.
• On-site clinical supervision and evaluation; coordinate clinical sites and extend shifts as needed.
• Collaboratively design and deliver learning experiences for diverse learners using LMS (Brightspace) and classroom tech.
• Ensure health and safety practices in classrooms, shops, and labs.
• Maintain currency with industry practices and 21st-century teaching methods; support online/blended delivery.
• Support academic and career advisement, committees, and work placements; liaise with industry and represent NSCC.
