Neighbourly Pharmacy in Nanton, Alberta is seeking a Casual Pharmacy Assistant to join Sandstone Pharmacies Nanton. You will support pharmacists and technicians, greet customers, and help with prescriptions under supervision.

This role offers flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with on-the-job training where available. Strong communication, organization, and basic computer skills are important assets in delivering quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program preferred.
• Experience in a pharmacy is an asset; on-the-job training provided.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; thrives in a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software.
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
• Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications per protocols.
• Receive and stock shipments; monitor inventory and rotate stock.
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and dispose of expired medications per regulations.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.
