The Opportunity:

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. The PSW helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You:

• Assist in monitoring the care given to residents, ensuring it aligns with the established care plan by observing and reporting findings to the supervisor.
• Contribute to documenting resident care information as directed.
• Participate in in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Assist in onboarding new staff members.
• Follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) policies and procedures.

What You Will Need:

• Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet standards set by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care, along with good sanitation and hygiene practices.
• Understanding of the needs of geriatric residents.
