About the Role

The Receptionistpositively represents and supports CommunityServices and its programs through telephone and office reception andparticipates as part of the administrative team. The On-Call Receptionistreports to the Director of Operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Provides prompt, professional telephone and in-personreception.
  • Maintains up-do-date information about Community Servicesand other community resources, including brochures.
  • Accepts incoming donations of goods according toestablished procedure.
  • Ensures the lobby area is well maintained and tidy.
  • Enter data and maintain accuracy of information on thereceipts/excel sheets and prepare deposit sheets for weekly bank deposit.
  • Stays current with relevant external community resources.
  • Book rooms for the different programs and arrange to movemeetings if required externally and internally by coordinating with staff.
  • Operates a variety of office equipment, e.g. fax/ printer / photocopier, and telephone and provides liaison with technicalsupport by reporting breakdowns, ordering toner, etc.
  • Provides support to staff if required.
  • Maintain forms/folders for garden plot, tent/equipment rental, develop as necessary and maintain equipment loan process.
  • Provide clerical/printing support and type/export to letterhead, prepare documents for staff, management and Board members as required.
  • Assists with other duties as required, from time to time, aiding with the efficient operation of the organization.
  • Sorts and distributes post, courier and faxes, incomingmail and prepares outgoing mail.

    What You Bring

  • Experience working in the non-profit sector is an asset.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across programsand with community partners.
  • Experience working effectively and in a non-judgmental manner with clients from different cultures, ethnicity, and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Multi-tasker able to identify and act on priorities.
  • Successful results of criminal records check.
  • Willingness to learn, be creative and flexible when situations change, adaptable to new technologies, and able to work in ambiguous environments.
