Overview

About your role as a Casual On-Call Community Inclusion Worker - Bakery Specialist:

Participates in the organization and implementation of Clements Centre Society’s social enterprise, the Mindful Mouthful. Encourages and facilitates individuals’ participation in bakery-related activities.

  • Enthusiasm, empathy, warmth, and understanding that align with our vision, mission, and values
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate, provide personalized support, and teach life skills and self-advocacy skills to participants and families
  • Knowledge of theory, values, and practices in community living including support systems
  • Ability to work effectively with families, staff, volunteers, and organizations
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised, as well as part of a team
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated good time and general management skills
  • Positive role model, including modeling a healthy lifestyle
Requirements of the job
  • A Community Support Worker Certificate, or equivalent education and experience
  • Three months’ experience delivering similar services supporting individuals with disabilities in community settings
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid Food Safety Certification
  • You will need to have a driver’s license, a current and satisfactory criminal record search and driver’s abstract, a physician’s health reference, a negative TB test
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite, preferred
Additional information
  • This position is open to all qualified individuals and requires Union membership (BCGEU)
  • May be required to use personal vehicle
  • Successful applicants will be required to obtain a Class 5 driver’s license in order to pass the trial period
