Qualifications

• Experience as a sonographer performing abdominal and vascular examinations.
• Experience with CIMT is an asset.

What You'll Do:

• Runs Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (CIMT) test with full competence owning all aspects of the role/service including both the scan and report including both intima-media thickness measurement and carotid plaque analysis

• Perform general ultrasound examinations such as abdominal, breast, transvaginal, etc

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures.

• Review patient medical history, evaluate contraindications, obtain patient consent, perform required ultrasound examinations and document findings.

• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and basic quality control checks.

• Ensure sonography exam results meet facility standards for quality assurance.

• Coordinate with cross functional clinic teams to ensure exceptional service and client experience.

• Arranges and performs training in CIMT for colleagues when appropriate;

• Participates in CIMT research by manually pulling relevant data for physicians, cardiologist and researchers.

What You’ll Need:

• Experience as a sonographer performing examinations such as abdominal exams

• Experience performing vascular ultrasound examinations

• Experience with CIMT is an asset

• Experience with breast, transvaginal and transrectal examinations an asset

• Member of the CMRITO

• Ultrasound ARDMS certification

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

This is a casual role that will be scheduled based on clinic needs Monday - Friday and at least 2 Saturdays/month.

Our Oakville clinic is conveniently located at 2275 Upper Middle Rd. E. bordering Mississauga. There is also free parking at the clinic.
