Job description

Reporting formally to the Team Lead, Media Services and receiving day to day guidance from the Media Services Clerk, the Media Services Assistant supports classroom technology used to aid learning and teaching on campus; event technology equipment rental delivery and pickup, event technology equipment setup and teardown; and provides support for Media services such as webcasting and videorecording services.

This position requires sufficient strength, stamina and coordination to perform related manual physical activities in order to set up, tear down, or repair equipment; a valid BC Driver’s License is required for the safe operation of motor vehicles to navigate the university and provide equipment as required in the delivery of Media services.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration in a constantly interrupted, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional while problem solving in high-stress situations, often in view of large classrooms of faculty and students.

Specialized Knowledge/Education
  • At least 1 year post-secondary education and familiarity with the post-secondary academic environment.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
Experience
A minimum of one year experience working in an event technology support related position for a post-secondary institution or comparable environment. Experience must include demonstrated working knowledge of common operating system based laptops, tablets and desktops; iOS and Android devices; and classroom technology used to aid learning and teaching.
