Position: Library Technician (Casual)

Under the direction of the Principal, the Library Technician will:

  • Operate the school Learning Commons, providing services in an automated/digital environment to meet staff and student needs.
  • Promote authors, books, literacy, technology, and organize special events.
  • Perform administrative functions related to the Learning Commons and/or school.
  • Coordinate volunteers' activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Degree/diploma in Library Technician, Information Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with Insignia or similar library software, Google Suite, computer hardware/software, mobile technology, and AV equipment.
  • Willingness to learn and promote new technologies like 3D printing, robotics, coding, Cricut, etc.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • A personal vehicle may be required.

Status: Casual, on-call during school hours.
Locations: Various schools.
Salary: $31.64/hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation.
