Job summary

Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking Casual Library Support Workers to assist at various schools on an as-needed basis. Compensation is $17.00 per hour, with opportunities across the region and during October 2026 window.

Applicants should have basic computer skills, the ability to work with students, and support library circulation, sign-in/sign-out, and overdue resource tracking. A Child Abuse Registry Search and Criminal Record Check are required before employment.

Qualifications

• knowledge of basic computer applications and technology.
• Develop and maintain positive rapport with students.
• Provide basic reference services to staff and students.
• Maintain the library collection in good repair.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the library circulation system including sign in/sign out and tracking overdue resources.
• Provide basic reference services to staff and students.
• Develop and maintain positive rapport with students.
• Maintain and organize library materials and resources.
• Assist with shelving, labeling, and shelving accuracy.
