Job summary

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) seeks Casual Learning Support Workers to assist students in Burns Lake area (Decker Lake, Francois Lake, Granisle, Grassy Plains).

This casual position has no guaranteed hours and pays the Uncertified rate of $26.72/hour where applicable. The successful candidate will support individual student needs, assist in delivering regular or alternative education, and advocate for students while participating in school-based teams.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate).
• Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience with children/youth with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required).
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with school and district staff to support the individual needs of students.
• Assist in the delivery of regular or alternate education programs for individuals or groups.
• Advocate for students and participate in school-based teams as needed.
