CASUAL LABOURER - PROPERTIES

Position Type: Temporary Full Time
Number of Positions: One (1)
Department: Community Services Department - Facilities Division

Location: Varied, throughout Belleville
Hours: 40 hours per week
Term of Employment: Up to 200 days in a 12-month period
Employee Group: Union - CUPE
Salary: $24.42 per hour, plus $1.85 shift premium where applicable
Closing Date: July 14, 2025 at 4:30 PMPURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Reporting directly to the Property Supervisor, the Casual Labourer will be responsible for maintenance and repairs to various buildings and structures with a focus on external building repairs, drywall repairs and painting.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Painting of various building locations and structures
• Minor electrical repairs such as light switches and outlets
• Minor renovation work involving drywall, wood and concrete structures
• Minor masonry repairs
• Minor plumbing repairs such as taps, toilets and showers
• Door and door hardware repairs

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SPECIALIZED SKILLS:

Key Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class ‘G” Ontario Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Ability to work in a variety of conditions and perform physical labour
• Experience in building maintenance and repairs
• Carpentry, drywall and painting experience
• Experience with both power and hand tools
• General knowledge of plumbing and electrical an asset
• Pool and custodial experience considered an asset
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Customer service experience
• Candidates must have safety footwear
