Application Information

The Role
You will be responsible for day-to-day analysis of laboratory samples by wet chemistry and instrumentation methods in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory. You are familiar with the operation of inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) and alpha counting spectrometer. This is a casual position.

In this role, you will:
-Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities within the lab operation and assist with corrective and preventative action planning and implementation
-Run daily water treatment monitoring assays
-Perform maintenance of analytical equipment in the lab
-Daily data entry of water treatment assays

Required:
-Chemical technology diploma or BSc Chemistry
-One to three years relevant work experience
-Working knowledge of chemical laboratory principles and procedures
-You are a team player with the ability to work independently with safety as a core value
-Excellent communication and analytical skills
-Ability to lift and maneuver up to 40 lbs
-Willing to work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Recommended:
-Experience with ICP-MS operation and maintenance
-Experience with various wet chemistry assays (pH, Ammonia, TSS)
-Experience with Microsoft Office suite
-Experience as a member of Emergency Response or Mine Rescue Team
