Job description

Job Title: Educational Assistant (Casual, Student)

The Educational Assistant is support staff in classrooms assisting students with specific needs, such as developmental delays, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, behavioral, social, or medical challenges, or in special education classrooms addressing social adjustment, communication, or learning disabilities. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing support for students' academic development.
2. Addressing physical, emotional, and hygienic needs.
3. Collaborating with the school team to support students and enhance educational programs.
4. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a student enrolled in one of the following programs (Years 1 to 3): Developmental Service Worker, Child & Youth Care Worker, Social Services Worker, or a related discipline. Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, NVCI, Braille, and Signing are assets.

Compensation

Hourly wage of $25.24 plus 4% in lieu of vacation pay.
