The York Region District School Board is seeking a Casual Early Learning Assistant to support childcare in elementary schools. This on-call role involves enhancing child-based play and guiding children under the supervision of an Early Childhood Educator. Overview
Location: Elementary schools within the Board, as needed
Nature of Position: Casual, on-call, within extended day programs
Summary: Working under the direction of the Early Childhood Educator, the Early Learning Assistant (Extended Day Program) assists in providing childcare before and after school, including professional activity days and school breaks. Responsibilities include enhancing child-based play, encouraging and guiding children, and modeling appropriate behavior techniques. Performs other duties to support the program’s objectives.
A working knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of French is preferred for some positions. Sign language skills are considered an asset.
Salary: $17.20 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
