Overview

Now recruiting for the 2025-2026 School Year!

Early Childhood Educators for daily casual work across all schools in BGCDSB. Short and long-term contracts may be available for application once accepted to our ECE List.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal, the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day Catholic early learning program. The ECE will provide supervision and age-appropriate programming, and will collaborate in the design of program, which will enhance children\'s cognitive, physical, emotional and spiritual development.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Completion of a post-secondary education program in Early Childhood Education (or in progress);
  • Registered member, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators;
  • Recent experience as an ECE working in an Early Learning Centre or Daycare;
  • Experience planning and implementing age appropriate programs;
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Early Learning Program, including the Extended Day Program and related legislation;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a sensitive and courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public;
  • Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality;
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations and to take appropriate action in stressful and/or emergency situations, according to policies and procedures;
  • Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • A vulnerable sector check valid within 6 months from date of hire is a condition of hire with the Board.
