Job summary

Steeves & Rozema Group is hiring a Casual Dietary Aide at our Long Term Care homes. You will help serve Residents during meals and support a warm, home-like dining environment. Shift coverage is expected, including same-day availability.

Ideal candidates will have a Food Safety Awareness Certification and at least 2 years in food service, preferably in healthcare. We value teamwork and a positive, caring approach to residents and families.

Qualifications

• Certification in Food Safety Awareness Course with recertification every 5 years.
• Food Service Worker Certificate is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years working in the food service industry.
• Previous employment in a healthcare setting and/or LTC.
• Knowledge of different food textures and special diets is recommended.
• VSS check completed within past 6 months.
• TB 2 Step updated within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Greet Residents courteously and answer questions.
• Perform light food preparation and plate meals per options.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals respecting special diets.
• Contribute to a home-like dining experience for Residents.
• Set up and clear the dining room and assist where needed.
• Wash dishes and keep kitchenette area sanitary.

At our Long Term Care homes, we pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming culinary atmosphere with fantastic food. As a Dietary Aide, you help serve our Residents during meal times.

If you were working for us as a Dietary Aide, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

• Greeted Residents and answered questions in a courteous and professional manner
• Performed lightfood preparation as assigned and plated Resident meals based on their requested meal option
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals being mindful of special diets, textures, and needs of the Residents
• Experienced the joy of making a positive impact by serving nutritious, comforting meals to Residents
• Participated in establishing and maintaining a home-like environment, including the dining experience
• Set up and cleared the dining room
• Washed dishes, cleaned and sanitized the kitchenette area
• And supported your team as needed.

Qualifications

We are currently seeking candidates interested in Casual employment. While this can include some pre-scheduled shifts, availability for same-day shift coverage is expected.

To be hired into this role, you must have:

• Certification in the Food Safety Awareness Course with recertification every 5 years
