Job summary

Autism Services seeks a Crisis Intervention Worker to provide direct services and support to Shelter residents in a safe, healthy environment. You will enforce Shelter rules, monitor cleanliness, and offer supportive communication to non-residents seeking services.

The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong boundaries, empowerment focus, and knowledge of community resources. Shift work is 24/7, 365 days, with 12-hour shifts and full availability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one-year certificate in the basic human services field or three years experience in social, health, or human service field.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal relation skills.
  • Certification in First Aid & CPR.
  • Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services and support to residents of the Shelter.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy environment and enforce Shelter rules and regulations.
  • Provide supportive communication with non-residents seeking Shelter services.
  • Monitor the maintenance and cleanliness of the Shelter.

Summary

The Crisis Intervention Worker is responsible for the provision of direct services and support to the residents of the Shelter in a safe, healthy environment, as well as the provision of supportive communication with non-residents who seek the Shelters services. The Crisis Intervention Worker will ensure the care and welfare of the clients in the Shelter by enforcing operations of Shelter rules and regulations and by monitoring the maintenance and cleanliness of the Shelter.

Qualifications

The position requires a person who has the ability to work alone and independently and as part of a team, demonstrates respect for all clients and co-workers, their decisions and choices, who sets effective boundaries in performing duties, who works to empower clients, who can provide clear information, education, boundaries, safety and access to resources, who knows how to care for herself appropriately, and who is a healthy role model for clients, as well as the following:

  • Minimum one-year certificate in the basic human services field or three (3) years experience in the social, health or human service field.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal relation skills.
  • Certification in First Aid & CPR
  • Safe Food Handling Certification
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Valid and insurable Saskatchewan Drivers License.
  • Must be able to pass security clearances and have a clean criminal record.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is considered an asset: nutrition, cultural diversity, life skills, cycle of abuse, family violence, and child development.
  • Shift Work (24/7, 365 day facility, 12 hour shifts)
