Job summary

DHL Express in Ottawa, ON is hiring a casual Courier Driver to join our delivery team. The role combines driving a van for deliveries and pickups with warehouse duties and requires a valid G Licence.

Pay is CAD 23.33 per hour with increases under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Availability from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and a clean driving record are required, along with the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• MS Office proficiency including Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Broad general knowledge of warehouse functions.
• Ability to handle bulky, heavy and awkward shipments.
• One year of warehouse or customer service experience is an asset.
• Understanding of First Choice Programs and Global SOP is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Drive a van to complete deliveries and pick-ups within tight time constraints.
• Lift and carry parcels up to 70 lbs per piece throughout the shift.
• Scan and process freight according to agreed procedures and Security Policies.
• Sort in-bound material accurately by deadlines.
• Move freight within the warehouse area as required.
• Assist the Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts and on‑hand items.
• Interact with customers in person and by phone.
• Perform accurate reporting and participate in warehouse organization and clean‑up.
• Maintain a safe and cooperative work environment and meet all security requirements.
