Job summary

Interior Health is seeking a Cook II to join our Support Services team at Summerland Health Centre, BC. This casual opportunity offers flexible hours, with shifts scheduled from 06:30 to 17:40, 0–37.5 hours per week as needed.

You will prepare meals according to menus and dietary requirements, portion food, manage rotations, supervise kitchen tasks, and help maintain a clean, safe cooking area while supporting a respectful team culture.

Qualifications

• Prepare assigned food items following established menus and recipes.
• Plan preparation and cooking schedules.
• Assist with therapeutic diet items and portion control.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and seasons menu items (soups, sauces, salads, meats, vegetables, desserts).
• Maintains food rotations to minimize spoilage and waste.
• Cleans cooking area and equipment and trains staff as needed.
• Checks diet trays and makes substitutions per therapeutic diet.
• Portions and serves food in dining areas.
