Position: Casual/Contract Assistant Professor, Chiropody (1 Position)
Status: Casual Part-Time

The Assistant Professor role in the Chiropody clinic is responsible for modelling and demonstrating best practices in clinical foot care in accordance with College of Chiropodists of Ontario standards. This is a critical role that combines excellence in clinical teaching for students while delivering high quality patient care.

• Fostering an effective learning environment and upholding all professional and provincial standards of client foot care
• Evaluating student progress and achievement, while providing student feedback and remedial assistance
• Liaising with other faculty and staff at the Michener Institute

Major Elements of the Position:

• Providing quality podiatric assessment, treatment, and care to individuals referred or self-referred to the clinical site
• Facilitating a positive learning environment for both clients and students at the clinic
• Providing feedback on student progress and achievement, along with student advisement and remedial assistance

Qualifications:

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario required
• Degree and/or Masters level education preferred
• Experience working/teaching in the field within the last 12 months preferred
• Certification by, and membership in OSC and CFPM preferred
• Current CPR and basic first aid certification
• Current Vulnerability Sector Check
• All immunizations current and up to date
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
