Salary Range: $25.86-$27.10

Additional: 4% in lieu of vacation, 5% in lieu of benefits, 3.5% in lieu of paid holidays, and $1.02 shift premium after 2pm

Position Overview

The Limestone District School Board is currently accepting applications for Casual Caretakers from individuals who are committed to ensuring our working and learning environments are safe and healthy for staff and students. You will provide support and assistance for initiatives and programs that impact directly on the health and well-being of all students and staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• Secondary school graduation diploma
• Minimum of six months cleaning experience considered an asset
• Availability for afternoon shifts from 3:00pm to 11:00pm an asset
• Ability to travel to and accept placement at any school in the Limestone District School Board
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, First Aid, Fire and Safety Standards and Procedures
• Demonstrated working knowledge of basic cleaning methods and safe operation of cleaning equipment
• Ability to safely use ladders and scaffolding
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of word processing software, email, and the internet
• Willingness to learn new systems/processes and attend training
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to new conditions
• Ability to respect confidentiality of information and practice tact
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check required prior to employment
