Job Description

We are seeking responsible and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers. This position involves operating a school bus on an assigned route for the Anglophone South School District. Drivers are expected to carry out their duties in accordance with applicable New Brunswick legislation and District policies, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students.

Please note, due to the nature of the Casual Bus Driver role, assignments are often made on short notice. Therefore, applicants should reside within ASD-S boundaries or in reasonable proximity to the assigned schools. If you live outside of the ASD-S region, please explain in your application how you would meet this requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate an assigned school bus safely and responsibly following all provincial regulations.
  • Adhere to the established route schedule provided by the district.
  • Conduct required daily inspections, checks, and clean-up of the assigned bus.
  • Maintain discipline and orderly conduct on the bus, in accordance with District policy.
  • Perform basic bus maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Carry out any other related duties as assigned, in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Other related tasks may be assigned as necessary to support the safe and efficient operation of student transportation.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or GED.
  • Possession of a valid New Brunswick Driver’s License endorsed for School Bus Operation and Air Brakes.
  • Successful completion of the School Bus Driver Training and Orientation Program provided by the Department of Education.
  • Possession of a recognized and current Standard First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to read and write and be physically capable of performing assigned tasks.
