Requirements:
Candidates with BST certification as a Gaming Security Officer (GSO) will be viewed favorably. Level 3 First Aid certification is considered an asset. Supervisory experience is a definite plus. An acceptable combination of education, relevant training, and/or experience may also be considered. The ideal candidate will have a background in providing excellent customer service.
You will need to obtain and maintain a gaming employee certificate of registration from the British Columbia Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch, a minimum Level One First Aid certificate, and a Serving It Right certificate. You should be able to walk and stand for extended periods and wear a radio with an earpiece. You will be required to work shifts, which include days, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts. Candidates must be 19 years or older to work in the casino.
Duties Job Description:
This position ensures the security of all casino assets and the integrity of gaming operations and the company while on shift. You will monitor and supervise all employees’ activities to ensure that all gaming operations comply with BCLC Casino Standards, policies, procedures, and the Casino’s internal policies. Your responsibilities include maintaining the safety of all individuals in the casino during your shift. You will supervise, direct, and delegate duties to Floor Security Officers, including coaching and taking disciplinary actions regarding team members, as well as assisting in training all new employees. This position requires you to manage fire alarms, fire panels, emergency evacuations, medical emergencies, and first aid calls in the casino. In a highly professional manner, you will also be tasked with addressing intoxicated and disruptive patrons and managing theft, cheating, and other criminal incidents or unacceptable behavior. Additionally, you must complete incident reports and record any unusual events or activities involving staff and patrons in ITRAK and the internal database. This may sometimes involve interaction with the RCMP.
