Casino - Line Cook (1st Cook) LATENIGHT 11:45 PM - 8:00AM

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino, located on the Tsuut’ina First Nation in Calgary. We are seeking talented, energetic, and motivated individuals to join our diverse team. We provide competitive salaries, benefits, and career growth opportunities.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Shift Supervisor, the Line Cook prepares a variety of hot and cold meals for sale and service to casino customers, both internal and external, during assigned shifts. The role requires adherence to safe work practices, frequent standing and walking, and concentration when preparing orders. Leadership qualities are also valued to assist with the development of Prep Cooks and Kitchen Helpers. The position may involve lifting up to approximately 50 lbs.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of line cook experience in a high-volume food service environment, including broiler, fryer, hot, and cold food preparation.
  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality or Culinary Management is an asset.
  • Health and Safety Certification.
  • Practical experience in large-scale foodservice operations for at least 3 years.
  • Casino food and beverage operational experience, inventory control, and food cost knowledge are advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven ability to prepare and cook a wide variety of foods.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Capacity to work in a physically demanding, high-volume, fast-paced environment.
