Job summary

Hard Rock Ottawa Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance and internal controls. You will lead revenue reporting, cash controls, audits, forecasting and analysis while supporting operations to drive profitability and regulatory compliance across gaming and non-gaming areas.

The role requires CPA designation, a post-secondary degree in accounting/finance and 5-7 years of progressive accounting

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Analyze fluctuations in departmental results and variances from budgets.
• Support the annual budget process.
• Develop historical/current/future trend analysis for decision making.
• Prepare financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain policies and procedures.
• Work with auditors and third parties on financial matters as needed.
• Manage monthly financial closing process.
