Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. in Canada is hiring to support a fresh, friendly shopping experience with a customer-first mindset. You’ll connect with shoppers, assist with checkout, and help keep the store clean and organized, while learning product knowledge and Farm Boy standards.

The role emphasises accurate transactions, teamwork, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays; Smart Serve certification may be required for alcohol locations. English is required, French is a plus.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Retail experience is asset; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
• For locations selling alcohol: a minimum age of 18 years and successful Smart Serve certification (or willingness to complete).
• The ability to work independently with attention to detail and pride in delivering quality results and maintaining cleanliness standards.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach supported by strong communication and organizational skills.
• Strong mathematical ability with a high degree of accuracy when processing transactions and handling tenders.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movements or tasks, outdoors/cooler.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers while processing purchases efficiently and accurately, including scanning items, bagging orders, and collecting tenders.
• Share knowledge and passion for Farm Boy products while assisting customers with questions and product information.
• Learn and apply product codes quickly and accurately to ensure timely checkout service.
• Handle all cash and tender transactions responsibly, including balancing tills and maintaining payment accuracy.
• Support store operations by answering and directing incoming phone calls as needed.
• Assist with the safe handling and sale of alcohol at applicable locations (Smart Serve certification required or willingness to obtain).
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work, storage, and front-of-store areas through general housekeeping duties.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures with a strong focus on Health & Safety and Food Safety.
• Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.
