Summary:
The Cash Manager manages the resources (human, physical, financial) of the Cash Department. The role involves interfacing with other store departments to ensure the achievement of store objectives and excels in customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and ensure cashier staff demonstrate our CORE Values.
- Interview and recommend final candidates for cashier positions.
- Ensure cashiers comply with all store standards.
- Schedule cashier staff hours, days off, and vacations within established guidelines.
- Train employees in job functions and provide ongoing coaching.
- Assist with performance reviews of cashier staff in conjunction with the FSM.
Customer Service:
- Ensure exceptional customer service beyond expectations.
- Ensure employees present proper image according to Uniform Policy.
- Ensure cashiers ask for PC Optimum Card during transactions.
- Promote company initiatives like PC Optimum, fundraising, and promotions.
- Manage cash-focused promotions and offers.
- Ensure cashiers are aware of weekly promotions and scanning policies.
- Maintain lottery trays according to standards and legislation.
Financial:
- Perform clerical and banking duties.
- Assist with coin orders and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain cash office and safe following store standards.
- Print and review transaction exception reports and cash over/short reports weekly.
- Knowledge of charge accounts as applicable.
Loss Prevention:
- Ensure loss prevention systems and procedures are followed.
- Adhere to parcel check procedures.
Qualifications:

- Ability to act on tasks and goals set by management.
Experience:
- Supervisory and labor management experience.
- Retail/grocery and cash handling experience.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
