Why this role is important

Summary

The Cash Manager manages the resources (human, physical, financial) of the Cash Department. The Cash Manager interfaces with other store departments to ensure achievement of store objectives and excels in customer service.

Responsibilities

1. Lead by example, demonstrating our CORE Values among cashier staff.
2. Interview and recommend final candidates for cashier positions.
3. Ensure cashiers comply with all Store Standards.
4. Schedule cashier staff hours, days off, and vacations within guidelines.
5. Train employees in job functions and provide ongoing coaching.
6. Assist with performance reviews of cashier staff in conjunction with the FSM.

Customer Service

1. Ensure exceptional customer service beyond expectations.
2. Ensure employees present a proper image according to the Uniform Policy.
3. Ensure cashiers ask for PC Optimum Card during transactions.
4. Promote company initiatives like PC Optimum, fundraising, etc.
5. Handle cash-focused promotions and offers.
6. Ensure cashiers are aware of weekly promotions and policies.
7. Maintain lottery trays according to standards and legislation.

Financial

1. Perform clerical and banking duties.
2. Assist with coin orders and resolve discrepancies.
3. Maintain the cash office/safe following standards.
4. Print weekly transaction exception reports and investigate variances.
5. Manage cash over/short reports weekly.
6. Knowledge of charge accounts as applicable.

Loss Prevention

1. Ensure all loss prevention procedures are followed.
2. Adhere to parcel check procedures.
