Case Manager RN

Overview

The Case Manager Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for the preparation, recording, and tracking of initial and retrospective payments for hospital services. This role involves answering, directing, and recording departmental phone calls from a variety of sources (insurance companies, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, durable medical equipment, and other health care providers) while understanding priorities for the delivery of quality patient care. The Case Manager coordinates with discharge planners for the continuum of patient care, including durable medical equipment (DME) and levels of care.

Responsibilities

The Case Manager Registered Nurse is responsible for:

1. Preparation, recording, and tracking of initial and retrospective payments for hospital services.
2. Answering, directing, and recording departmental phone calls from various sources.
3. Coordinating with discharge planners for continuum of patient care.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

1. Current CA RN license.
2. Typing skills of a minimum of 45-55 words per minute.
3. Fluency in medical terminology.
4. Strong communication and written grammatical skills.
5. Current Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider) certification.
