Job summary

BGC Okanagan is seeking a casual Case Manager for CLBC Programs in Salmon Arm, BC. The role supports young adults to strengthen resilience, build essential life skills, develop healthy relationships, and connect with community resources.

Services are delivered one-to-one and in small groups, in both office and community settings. The Case Manager collaborates with participants and CLBC to identify goals, implement short-term intervention plans, and monitor progress.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate or relevant experience in social services or youth work.
  • First Aid Certificate is required.
  • Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information to assess problems, needs, and risks for participants.
  • Develop and implement short-term, issue-specific intervention plans.
  • Plan and conduct group or individual sessions using active listening and problem-solving.
  • Assess progress toward goals and adjust approaches as needed.
  • Maintain records and provide reports to the supervisor.
  • Liaise with other professionals and supports to promote participant interests.

BGC Okanagan is hiring a Case Manager of CLBC Programs!

The Case Manager, CLBC Programs, supports young adults in strengthening their resilience, building essential life skills, developing healthy relationships, and connecting with community resources. In this role, you will work collaboratively with participants and CLBC to identify goals and support their progress. Services are delivered through a participant-centered approach, offering one-to-one and group-based support both in the office and within the community. This is a casual, on-call position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gathers information relevant to the participant’s problems, needs, and risks by interviewing, observing behaviour, meeting with caregivers and service providers, and using an assessment tool. Reviews the information collected to identify strengths, problems, needs, and risks.
  • Develop and implement short-term, issue‑specific intervention plans within the program scope.
  • Plans, prepares, and conducts group or individual sessions using techniques such as active listening, conflict resolution, and problem‑solving to address the identified problems, needs, and risks.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of strategies used and checks in on the participant’s progress toward goals, adjusting the approach as needed to best meet participant needs.
  • Maintains related records and statistics and provides reports to the supervisor as required.
  • Liaises with other professionals and the participant’s natural supports to promote the interests of the participant and their family.
Qualifications
  • A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education, or social services.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract
Working Conditions
  • Requires travel by vehicle to meet with participants.
  • Involves outreach work in community-based settings, including local businesses and public locations.
  • Includes intermittent physical activity such as walking, standing, and sitting.

Hours: Casual hours, Monday to Friday, daytime hours

Rate of Pay: $25.95 per hour
