Qualifications

• Journeyperson Carpentry (Red Seal) is required.
• Certificate of Apprenticeship is required.
• Minimum 5 years as a journeyperson on residential, commercial and industrial projects.
• Experience instructing carpentry apprenticeship technical training.
• Completion of the Provincial Instructors Diploma program.
• Familiarity with the BC Carpentry program outline.
• Experience setting up training programs.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments.
• Teach in assigned carpentry subjects and include required outcomes and evaluations.
• Direct student learning in a positive, supportive environment and be available for office hours.
• Submit grades in a timely manner and maintain student records.
• Maintain records of enrollment and achievement per college policies.
• Adhere to college policies and contribute to program development and continuous improvement.
• Work within department meetings and college committees as appropriate.
• Undertake other duties as assigned when load permits.
