CARPENTRY / BUILDING CONSTRUCTION INSTRUCTOR

The Faculty of Trades & Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University is currently seeking a Non-Regular Type 1 (contract) Carpentry / Building Construction instructor to provide short-term delivery of entry level and apprenticeship training, which may extend from a single day to several weeks.

This Carpentry / Building Construction training is on campus at KPU Tech.

More information concerning the working conditions for a faculty member are outlined in Article 12 of the Kwantlen Faculty Association (KFA) Collective Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum qualifications include a Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (IP RSE).
  • A minimum of five years current industry experience as a Carpentry / Building Construction Journeyperson.
  • Also required is the knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with students.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching successfully, current carpentry skills and five (5) years supervisory or administrative experience. Contract consideration may be subject to a practical assessment.

  • SALARY INFORMATION :

Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
