Position: Carpenter-Red Deer Pedestrain Bridge

Project Location: Red Deer

Shift: Day

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Accommodations: Local Only

Jardeg is currently recruiting for a experienced Carpenter to join the team at the Red Deer Pedestrian Bridge Project!

This position is for local candidates only and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.

Shift is 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime if needed

Responsibilities

  • Be able to comprehend blueprints, and prepare layouts
  • Understand concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
  • Look for, and fix deficiencies
  • Checks accuracy of work
  • Able to plan work
  • Familiar with concrete pours, pour Hts., elevations, etc.
  • Build scaffolding, and ladders for temporary work platforms above ground level
  • Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • Follows Company Policies in regard to safety Absolutes and Documenting Safety Paperwork i.e. FLRA’s etc.

Requirements

  • Preference will be given to a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
  • Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
  • Fall Protection is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
