$26-$41.00 per hour (based on experience and education)

Job Description

The carpenter is responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings. Key knowledge includes construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety.

Proficiency in tasks such as hanging doors, installing hardware, setting windows, stair and rafter layout, formwork, and blueprint reading is required. Mathematical and analytical skills for materials estimation are also necessary.

Qualifications
  • Current journeyman carpenter’s certificate; Red Seal is an asset
  • Valid EWP and fall protection tickets are advantageous
  • Experience with Peri formwork is a plus
  • WorkSafeBC certification required
  • Knowledge of safe operation of hand and power tools and equipment
  • Understanding of workplace safety, safe lifting, handling procedures, first aid, and CPR
