As the Apprentice Carpenter you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.

  • The work requires commuting to and from the job site daily.
  • The position requires physically demanding motions and tasks.
  • Candidates are required to be in good physical condition, fit for work and prepared to work on project sites outside in all seasons and weather.

YOU WILL

  • Be open to learning, work with Carpenters and other staff on site to facilitate an effective education for yourself.
  • Stop and ask questions if unsure.
  • Take time to learn how to use hand and power tools
  • Become competent:
  • In the general construction process
  • In reading and understanding specs and drawings
  • With layout and be able to use a builder’s level.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.

YOU WILL NEED

  • Registered Carpentry Apprentice in Alberta
  • Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of general math

  • Demonstrate pride in work with attention to detail.
