Join to apply for the Carpenter Apprentice - 1st & 2nd year role at ATCO Structures.

We are seeking an energetic, passionate, and reliable 1st and 2nd-year Apprentice Carpenter to join our Calgary Manufacturing Plant. This union-based position reports to the Lead Hand and involves assisting in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, in compliance with local building codes.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Build house frameworks, walls, roofs, and interior/exterior finishes.
2. Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles.
3. Repair and remodel existing structures.
4. Read and interpret drawings.
5. Select materials, plan work sequences, and measure and mark materials to prevent errors.
6. Cut, shape, and join materials using nails, screws, bolts, or glue.
7. Ensure completed units are level, square, plumb, and correctly sized and positioned.
8. Work accurately, economically, and adhere to building codes.

Job Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a carpentry program as a 1st or 2nd-year Apprentice Carpenter.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
• Capacity to lift heavy materials and equipment.
