Job summary

Paul Davis Restoration Lethbridge is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our restoration team in Lethbridge, Alberta. You’ll handle framing, drywall, trim, doors, and finishing, both independently and with project teams on insurance restoration projects.

We value safety, quality workmanship, and communication with customers and stakeholders. Travel to local job sites is required, with a detailed focus on safety and customer care.

Qualifications

  • Proven carpentry or construction experience; insurance restoration or residential repair is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of framing, interior finishing, doors, trim, cabinetry, drywall.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to interpret measurements, scopes, drawings, and written instructions.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel to jobsites in Lethbridge and surrounding communities.
  • Pre-employment criminal background check required; must maintain a satisfactory record.
  • Ability to lift, carry, climb, kneel, and work in varied site conditions.
  • Journeyperson Carpenter certification is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete framing, backing, blocking, drywall prep, trim, doors, cabinetry, flooring transitions, and finish carpentry repairs.
  • Perform repairs such as drywall, paint, and other construction elements.
  • Remove, repair, and replace damaged building components as needed.
  • Read work orders, scopes, drawings and project instructions; confirm site conditions.
  • Plan daily work, organize materials and tools, and complete tasks on time.
  • Maintain workmanship meeting company standards, manufacturer requirements, codes, and trade practices.
  • Protect customers’ property and keep worksites clean, organized, and safe.
  • Communicate progress, material needs, deficiencies, and scope concerns promptly to Project Manager.
  • Document completed work and site conditions with notes/photos; coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Follow health and safety requirements and participate in trainings.

Paul Davis Restoration Lethbridge is seeking a skilled, dependable Carpenter to join our growing restoration team. This position is ideal for a craftsperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates professionally, and wants to help property owners recover after water, fire, storm, and other property losses.

Paul Davis Restoration provides emergency mitigation, restoration, and reconstruction services to residential and commercial property owners. The Opportunity

As a Carpenter, you will complete repair and reconstruction work on insurance restoration projects throughout Lethbridge and Southern Alberta. You will work independently and with project teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality results while maintaining clean jobsites and positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete framing, backing, blocking, drywall preparation, trim, doors, cabinetry, flooring transitions, and other finish-carpentry repairs.
  • Perform repairs such as drywall, paint, and other construction elements with the appropriate experience.
  • Perform selective removal, repair, and replacement of damaged building components as assigned.
  • Read work orders, scopes, drawings, and project instructions; confirm site conditions and identify concerns before proceeding.
  • Plan daily work, organize materials and tools, and complete assigned tasks efficiently and within project timelines.
  • Maintain workmanship that meets company standards, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and accepted trade practices.
  • Protect customers’ property and maintain organized, clean, and safe worksites.
  • Communicate progress, material needs, deficiencies, and scope concerns promptly to the Project Manager and Coordinator.
  • Document completed work and site conditions with notes and photographs when required.
  • Coordinate professionally with customers, coworkers, subcontractors, adjusters, and other project stakeholders.
  • Follow all company health and safety requirements and participate in training and team meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven carpentry or construction experience; experience in insurance restoration, renovation, or residential repair is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of framing, interior finishing, doors, trim, cabinetry, drywall, and common building materials.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to interpret measurements, scopes, drawings, and written instructions.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to jobsites in Lethbridge and surrounding communities.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check is required. The successful candidate must maintain a satisfactory criminal record appropriate to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to complete the physical requirements of construction work, including lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, and working in varied site conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • Journeyperson Carpenter certification is an asset but is not required for candidates with strong practical experience.
