Mission Group is seeking aCarpenterto join one of our high-rise construction projects in Kelowna, BC. The Carpenter will perform all duties related to carpentry on-site as directed by the Site Superintendent.The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, experience working on residential high-rise projects and shares our commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do:

• Follow construction plans and schedules
• Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing / mech / electrical drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install trim items such as doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
• Attend and participate in toolbox and safety committee meetings
• Assist site teams with carpentry projects and organizing and using tools such as nail guns, saws, etc.
• Maintain a professional, calm, willing, and positive relationship with coworkers and subtrades
• Work with subtrades for back framing
• Others duties and tasked as assigned by the Site Superintendent

What you’ll have:

• Minimum 4 years experience in residential construction
• Diploma in a skilled trade such as carpentry is a strong asset
• Strong knowledge in building and construction
• Strong attention to detail
• Dedication to safety and safe work procedures
• Able to work long hours and weekends when needed
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift and hold up to 50lbs
• Basic English language skills are required
