CARETAKERS (ON-CALL CASUAL)

Coquitlam School District invites applications for Casual Caretakers. As the third largest school district in the province, we are located within a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The school district has a population of 34,000 students with approximately 4,400 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.

Coquitlam School District invites applications for Casual Caretakers. As the third largest school district in the province, we are located within a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The school district has a population of 34,000 students with approximately 4,400 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.

Working under the Senior Caretaking Manager/designate, Caretakers are responsible for performing general custodial services and related duties as assigned in a timely process, in order to ensure the buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

Duties include but are not limited to - use of various cleaning equipment, vacuuming, spot cleaning, damp and dry dusting, polishing, sweeping, mopping floors, disposing of garbage, cleaning washrooms, replacing lightbulbs.

Please Note

These positions are designed to replace absent employees. There is no guarantee of

hours. Applicants must be available 6 days per week and work a variety of shifts

(morning, afternoon, and nights) including weekends.

Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Minimum of Grade 10 completion, plus a Building Service Worker Certificate from a recognized college/institution is required.
  • You must have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position including climbing ladders and scaffolds and some heavy lifting.

This is an on-call casual unionized position which offers $28.48 an hour plus 16% in lieu of benefits.
