Job summary

A local caregiving service in Fraser Valley is looking for a compassionate personal care assistant to help patients with daily living activities. The successful candidate will support personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders. Candidates must have HCA/CSW certification, excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Must be HCA/CSW certified or have equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work independently with team support.
  • Criminal Records Check is required.
  • Valid CPR & First Aid certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal hygiene care.
  • Help with dressing and undressing.
  • Prepare meals and monitor food safety.
  • Accompany patients to errands or medical appointments.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties.
  • Provide medication reminders.
  • Assist with prescribed exercises.
  • Use lifting equipment as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs personal care and patient-specific activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living, including but not limited to:

  • Help with patients personal hygiene care
  • Assist with dressing/undressing
  • Prepare meals and food safety monitoring
  • Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments
  • Performs light housekeeping activities
  • Provide medication reminders
  • Assist with the prescribed range of motion exercises
  • Use lifting equipment such as gait belts and Hoyer lifts
QUALIFICATIONS
  • HCA/CSW certified or equivalent (previous experience will be considered)
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with the support of your team
  • A Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check required
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Valid CPR & First Aid an asset
  • Must have access to use of a vehicle
  • Business insurance will be needed
