Position Overview:

As a Career Coach, you will play a key role in supporting business students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals as they navigate their careers. This role goes beyond traditional coaching by focusing on personalized strategies that align with each individual’s strengths, goals, and the realities of a rapidly evolving job market. You will provide high-impact career coaching through one-on-one appointments and group sessions, helping students refine job search tactics, explore diverse career paths, and set meaningful career goals. Your coaching will span a wide range of topics, from self-exploration and long-term planning to practical skill-building, such as resume writing, interviewing, and managing professional relationships.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, student-centered environment with opportunities to specialize in key areas of career development, attend advanced training, and engage in peer learning to continually grow your expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Career Coaching

    • Conduct mock interviews and provide tailored feedback to enhance students’ confidence and performance.
    • Take a holistic approach to career coaching, considering students’ broader personal and professional contexts to support long-term career success.
    • Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions, monitor student progress, and produce reports to track engagement and outcomes.
    • Build trust-based relationships with students, serving as a credible, approachable, and knowledgeable resource throughout their career journey.
    • Engage in ongoing professional development through peer coaching, workshops, and advanced training seminars.
  • Career Programming, Special Projects, and Facilitation
    • Design and facilitate career development programs such as workshops, sessions, and events that address diverse student needs and career stages.
    • Lead or contribute to strategic projects that enhance the impact and innovation of career management, aligned with institutional priorities and industry trends, engaging staff, faculty, alumni, and employers as relevant to project goals.
    • Use data, student feedback, and labor market insights to evaluate and refine programs, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness.
    • Apply relevant career development frameworks to support exploration and proactive career management.
    • Regularly assess and adapt initiatives to enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, and equity of access.
    • Ensure programming is inclusive and responsive to the unique needs of underrepresented student groups.
    • Stay informed of emerging trends in career education and integrate best practices into programming.
  • Admissions Interviews
    • Conduct behavior-based interviews with prospective MSc and MBA applicants, evaluating their fit with the program and making well-supported recommendations.
    • Collaborate closely with the Admissions & Recruitment team to ensure consistent, thoughtful, and fair candidate assessments.
    • Provide insights to refine admissions processes and align candidate evaluations with program goals.
